Dolch Sight Word List. Dolch words, or sight words, are critical in early reading development because they represent high-frequency words and are difficult to sound out or to illustrate. They are often called sight words because some of them can't be sounded.
Unlike the Dolch sight words list, this new option included ALL parts of speech - including nouns that Dolch left out of the mix. Dolch categorized his sight word list to assist teachers in determining which words a child should learn first. As an alternative to Dolch words, you may want to try the Fry Instant sight word lists.
